In this study we will be looking at the Second Book of Samuel. Many people see this book as the story of David and how he got to be king. But if that’s how you see the book, you will never properly understand it. Ralph Davis rightly says, this is a book “about a covenant-making God who makes covenant promises to a covenant king through whom he will preserve his covenant people.” Bearing that in mind, let’s look more deeply into the book of Second Samuel.
