Worship...

Our Sunday morning service has a simple structure and utilises a blended style of worship focusing in and around the preaching of God's Word.

We continue to seek ways of making worship relevant, meaningful and fresh for our current age while maintaining the integrity of the Gospel message.

What We Believe...

About the Scriptures

We believe the entire Bible, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God and that men were uniquely and fully inspired by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error and has the final authority on all matters to which it speaks. (2 Timothy 1:13, 3:162 Peter 1:20-21 ; Psalm 119:105; 160, 12:6Proverbs 30:5 )

About God

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity and he is present in the world to make humans aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of Salvation. He provides the believer with power for living, understanding spiritual truth, wisdom, and guidance for doing what is right. (Genesis 28:19Isaiah 9:6 ; Matthew 1:22,23 ; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; 16:7-13Acts 1:8-11; 2:41 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; 15:3-42 Corinthians 3:17; 13:14; Galatians 5:25Ephesians 1:13; 5:181 Timothy 6:14-15Titus 2:13Hebrews 4:14-151 Peter 1:2)

About mankind

We believe that humanity was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own effort alone. (Genesis 1:27Psalm 8:3-6Isaiah 53:6Isaiah 59:1-2Romans 3:23)

About salvation

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. (Romans 6:23Ephesians 2:8-9John 14:6, 1:12Titus 3:5Galatians 3:26Romans 5:1)

About the Christian life

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. (Philippians 2:13 and Ephesians 5:18)

About the church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ.  The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. (Matthew 28:18-20Acts 2:42-47Hebrews 10:25)

History...

Formed in 1968, we are the only Presbyterian congregation on Grand Bahama.

Our building was erected in 1970. To some we are known as "The Kirk" ("Kirk" simply meaning "church" in Scots).

Now...

Our church is part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. We are a multi-national congregation which is fitting, as the Kingdom of God has no national boundaries and is made up of believers from all countries of God's world. Our numbers swell over the winter months as the ambient weather brings many from countries with more severe winter weather.
